The battery catch is very fiddly, the side can look like it is flush but one of the catches may not be fully in. Do this and then when you reconnect it the camera will activate (be sure to be logged in to an Insta360 account). To overcome it I had to go to settings and under ‘connect camera’ and then select the connected camera and it will give the option to disconnect. I wasn’t logged in to an account when I first connected and then the option to activating would flash up but not be usable and the camera would connect automatically but not activate. So to get the camera working you will need to install that app and connect to it over Bluetooth or WiFi, it is recommended to have both switched on.
